The mission of competition is to identify and sustain young talent and to encourage and support excellence in the performance of classical music by showcasing the gifts of young artists. LITA (Long Island Tutoring Academy) is a proud partner of the New York International Competition for young artists which is designed for young musicians and artists on the path to a successful career. LITA specialize in both test prep, 100% percent of our student pass the tests with excellent score and 98% percent of our student get A+ on their test results. Both exams are highly regarded and extremely beneficial as extra credentials when applying for college while experiencing the magic power of music. Students are strongly encouraged to participate the NYSSMA and ABRSM examinations.

Intermediate to advanced-level classes explore scales, intervals, sight-singing, harmony and simple composition. Beginner-level class focuses on the basic musicianship including rhythm and note-reading. The theory class is designed to teach students, through a sequential curriculum, basic rhythms, scales, intervals, harmony, sight-singing, dictation, and simple composition. Note reading, technique, theory, musicality, and performance skills are all taught in engaging ways that enable students enjoy the process of learning. LITA’s curriculum is designed to make music lessons both fun and educational for young musicians, by encouraging an enthusiasm for music and the foundation on which to build musical skills. Quarterly Review - Every quarter our Music Director reviews the progress of each student, making sure that their work is developing at the proper pace. ĭuration: 30- minute, 45-minute and 60-minute sessions weekly (Students can sign up for 8 classes, 20 classes and 32 classes) Each student will be assigned to one of our distinguished faculty members, all of whom are accomplished professional musicians and who graduated from music programs such as the Juilliard School, Curtis Institute of Music, Manhattan School of Music, Yale University, Boston Conservatory, Mannes the New School of Music and more. Assignment of a teacher is determined based on the student’s needs, goals, past experience, and availability. The one-on-one interaction between teacher and student enables an unparalleled level of personalized instruction and is ideal for developing the student’s musicianship skills. New students have the opportunity to meet with the director, or the department head, for a consultation. We nurture every student with individualized, encouraging one-on-one music instruction.
